This week past at the Innovation in Mind conference in Lund, the audience was inspired by some great talks from Clay Shirky, Eric Von Hippel and Nolan Bushnell. At the conclusion of the conference a panel of speakers were asked what they would remember most from this conference. Interestingly, everyone mentioned the talk by Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic. What made Sahar’s talk memorable? Simply put, she told a story. Sahar told the tale of how she and her brother started Coffee Republic. Her narrative was accompanied by wonderful images, which brought it to life. No bullets, no charts, no business buzz babble. Everyone in the audience could related to her story and as a result we were inspired.

Next time you give a presentation, tell a story.
